WHIRITOA

Whiritoa is an idyllic seaside village just 14kms or 15 mins south of Whangamata (or 16 kms north of Waihi) with a permanent population of around 100 people and a holiday poulation of around 1000. There are about 350 homes here of modest means and some exclusive beachfront properties as well. The local surfclub is the focal point of the community in the summer and the settlement has a functioning community centre, with library and fire station.
